Wild About Play Holiday Camps for kids Putney London

Holiday Camps

Giving space and allowing those wonderful sparks of imagination to flourish is important for our children while they rest, rejuvenate and reset during the school holidays, and our dynamic outdoor sessions offer exactly that.

wild about play

At Wild about Play, we deliver engaging, exciting and dynamic forest school education to spark, inspire and extend childrenā€™s imagination and learning at nursery and primary school age. With birds-eye views of Putney Common and Woods from our rooftop base camp at Oasis Academy, Putney, we run our Ofsted-approved outdoor nursery all year round with outdoor learning camps during school holiday breaks.

Wild About Play’s
Mission

Our mission is simple: ā€œTo help our children have fun, feel free, explore and progress their inner strengths through playful learning in and while caring for local nature.ā€

Outdoor education for the community.

Our wonderful, highly-qualified practitioners curate sessions that incorporate the natural world and the EYFS curriculum into our childrenā€™s education ensuring they unleash their full potential. Children are encouraged to explore their surroundings and spearhead their learning through a mix of fun physical, musical, artistic and construction challenges. The calming and rich effects of nature coupled with skilled adult support provides the framework to support meaningful play,Ā  enriching learning and developing key skills such as enquiry, expression, experimentation and team work.

At Wild About Play (WaP) we do not rest until children can be mindful and motivated to follow their path and express themselves. Our WaP way is about developing and extending personal and social skills that will be there to guide them through the rest of their lives, ensuring our children of tomorrow are not just school ready and thriving but also life ready and resilient.

Just Some Of Our Recent Reviews

My two children attended this holiday camp for the first time during the October half term after being recommended by a close friend. The children had lots of fun, and loved the idea of the camp being outdoors as well as indoors. They previously attended a day nursery which consisted of sessions at forest school, so they already had an idea of some of the activities which might be included at WaP. The teachers, and admin staff were also really helpful in answering all of my questions prior to them attending. One constructive criticism that I have, is that it would be nice to get a short handover/feedback at collection. I found that had I not asked, this wasnā€™t really given. Just would be nice to know exactly what they got up to, how they were etc. apart from that, I cannot wait for the children to attend again!

Our 3-year-old son had an amazing time at WAP. Even the rain made him happy! He loved exploring the forest, looking at snails, and learning about nature with the help of the kind staff. This adventure made him more confident and taught him to love and respect the outdoors. We're really glad he had this experience. For other parents thinking about a holiday camp for their kids, we highly recommend this one. It's a great place for little explorers to learn and have fun.

My daughter has been going to WAP for almost a year now and she absolutely loves it. Weā€™ve taken her out of nursery and put her in full time and she seriously canā€™t get enough. The teachers are absolutely brilliant, such a warm and welcoming atmosphere for little ones to learn and explore in !

Our daughter has really thrived at WaP. We are thrilled with the nursery and are confident in the knowledge that every adult at WaP really cares and has taken the time to get to know her. We never worry how she is during the day and find communication to be excellent and fulsome. We appreciate the gentle encouragement she is given to help her problem solve by herself. We have also noticed her confidence grow with unknown adults outside of nursery and the knowledge she comes home with, as well as the wonderful artistic creations she makes, is astounding! Itā€™s great fun having her tell us about ā€œdeciduous treesā€ and identifying the bird songs on our dog walks! The meals and drinks you make with the children are also particularly great for her who, as an independent little thing(!) benefits from widening her culinary repertoire! We would not hesitate to recommend this nursery.

My son loves every minute of his time at WaP. There is a real sense of community at WaP, the teachers are dedicated, warm and engaged. They help the kids to grow and develop brilliant life skills. My son has a particularly special bond with his key person but loves all the staff at WaP. As a teacher myself, I am thrilled to be sending my son to such a fantastic school that incorporates outdoor play and experiences with learning.

My son has been going to the Wild About Play Holiday Camps since he was 3 years old. He has been in rain and shine, frost and heatwave and he asks me to book it. He has now done 7 camps I think and we're about to book him for a 8th over Easter. What he loves isn't simply the forest school aspect - in fact, I'd say his main reasons for loving it are the focus on play (it seems very child led) and the excellent, warm staff who never talk down to the children. Wild About Play we love you!

Amazing in every way! My 3.5year old attended for a few days in the half term holiday and came out so so happy (and muddy!) every single day, saying ā€œit was so cool Mumā€ and ā€œI loved itā€ and ā€œcan I go there every day not my usual school?!ā€ Thank you to all the teachers - itā€™s truly a special place.
